Patti Heming founded Heming & Heming in February 1994 and is the tax specialist in the practice. She deals with a variety of clients and specializes in assisting with not-for-profit organizations and deals with all personal and corporate tax matters. After graduating from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1985, she started work at Coopers & Lybrand. She received the Chartered Accountant designation and completed a six-month secondment with Coopers & Lybrand in Auckland, New Zealand in 1988. From 1989 to 1994 she worked as a Tax Manager at BDO Dunwoody and completed her CICA In-Depth Tax course before starting her own practice. Heming & Heming grew to a point where Patti needed help due to the growth of the business. This lead to the discussion with her husband, John Heming, who agreed to join the practice in 2001.

John Heming joined Heming & Heming in 2001 and oversees accounting, financial statement and tax return preparation. John has also been very involved in a local charity as the Director of Finance. John graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and started work at Coopers & Lybrand in 1985. He received the Chartered Accountant designation and completed a six-month secondment with Coopers & Lybrand in Auckland, New Zealand in 1988. Instead of continuing with public accounting, John left to work at Effem Foods Inc. as the Controller. John stayed with Effem, now known as Mars Canada, from 1989 until 2001 when he joined his wife Patti at Heming & Heming.

Thomas Heming joined Heming & Heming in 2018 and provides accounting support, financial statement preparation and tax return preparation. Thomas Heming graduated from Brock University with an Honours Bachelor of Accounting Co-op degree in 2015, which included 16 months of co-op experience at Collins Barrow in London, ON. After graduating, Thomas started work at BDO in the Audit and Assurance group. He received the Chartered
Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2017 and joined his parents in at Heming & Heming in October 2018.
Ross Halbert, CPA

Growing up, Ross was a high school friend of Thomas and was a frequent visitor of the Heming home. After high school, Ross attended Wilfrid Laurier University and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Business, Specialization in Accounting in 2015. Ross started his accounting career in London ON at Ford Keast LLP, as a staff accountant handling both audit and tax return files. He transitioned back to Toronto in 2018 after receiving his CPA designation and joined Welch LLP as a senior staff accountant handling the audits of various clients surrounding Toronto. In 2020 he was recruited to join the growing Heming & Heming and provides accounting support, financial statement preparation and personal/corporate tax return preparation.
Asma Amer

Asma Amer joined Heming & Heming in 2016 and provides accounting and bookkeeping support as well as assists in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and tax returns. Asma graduated from Preston University in 1998 with a major in Business Administration. Before joining Heming & Heming, Asma had experience providing accounting and admin support for various companies including a general contractor for municipalities, a health clinic, a telecommunications company and a residential construction company.
